A college spokesman would not say whether disciplinary action has been taken against anyone including Dr. Flavio A. Uribe, D.D.S., an assistant professor who is program director and clinic director in the college's Division of Orthodontics.
Graduate dental school students and Dr. Uribe reportedly took a selfie with two severed heads in the background, that were used last year for medical research during training at Yale University. The Associated Press obtained the photo from a member of a private group.
Yale officials called the episode disturbing and inexcusable. Both Yale and UConn Health officials say they have taken steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again, according to Fox61 news in this report.
The selfie was taken in June at the Yale School of Medicine during a surgical workshop and shared in a private group chat, Fox News reported, noting that Dr. Uribe called the photo unfortunate.
